Eduard Hellvig is a Romanian politician and former journalist who was born on August 28, 1974, in Bistrița, Romania. He has been a member of the Romanian Parliament since 2004 and was appointed Minister of Communication and Information Society in 2014. In 2015, he was elected President of the Romanian Intelligence Service and served until 2019. Hellvig is a member of the National Liberal Party and has been a vocal advocate of digitalization and cybersecurity in Romania. He holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Bucharest and a master's degree in Security and Diplomacy from the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest.
